How To Have A Low Stress Wedding Day

Your Wedding Day is a special day indeed, a time to enjoy with close friends and family, or a time to get away from everything and everyone so you and that special someone can take your expression of love to the next stage. However, if you plan on having a large wedding you need to be prepared.

Like with most things preparation is the key to success, set your budget, research vendors, and vet your service providers etc, and book early. Sounds straight forward, I know, but what people forget to do is delegate.

During your wedding day, things are going to come up, it's inevitable, but who you have managing things will determine whether you never notice little issues and have a great day or you spend unnecessary time trying to fix little problems that can distract you from your special moments.

There are a few things you can set up for that day that will help you stay focused on what's important.

For the Church:

Have an Usher or two to ensure designated seating assignments are followed, ensure reserved seats are not taken by someone who just didn’t look to see the reserved sign. This will also ensure that the Bride’s guests sit together as well as the Groom’s guests. I will help if you have an usher from each side that knows most everyone on that side (things will go smoother that way).

The Photo Session:

Though the photo session is usually Bride and Groom, and in some part the bridal party, there are always persons who are important to you that you will want to have in your captured memories. I would be a great help if someone was assigned to wrangle persons just before it’s their turn to have their photo with you, it cuts back on time wasted searching and it saves frustration with the Bride / Groom leaving after every photo looking for the next person(s) to be photographed with them. Ensure this person has a familiarity with most of the important people you want with you, and give them a list of the order so that everything runs like clockwork.

The Reception:

As in the Church, Ushers are important but you also need to have a go-to problem solver or any issues are going to get brought directly to you. Ensure that all service providers know who this person is. If you can take them with you during the meetings so they are familiar with the flow of the event, that way they can spot and intercept any issues before they affect your event. You can even have this person responsible for the delivering of your gifts home at a later time as you may want to start your honeymoon as soon as you leave the reception.

That's just a few things you can do to ease the pressure of the day, another thing is ensuring your Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honour know what their roles are, but we'll get into that in a later post.

Thanks for Stopping by.
